Creating Hope, “Hope in hopeless situations.”

If you are struggling with debt or unemployment, or just want to know more about how to manage your money better, then Creating Hope is here to help you.

What is Creating Hope?

Since we first launched CAP Sutton back in 2012 through C3 UnitedLife, we’ve witnessed up close just how devastating poverty and debt can be. Every individual or family we support comes with their own story—and often, the root causes behind their struggles are deep, complex, and go far beyond the numbers on a spreadsheet. But yet, the need is far greater than what one church can achieve.

Creating Hope was formed to provide the umbrella for CAP Sutton and other amazing services, so that true collaboration and partnership could develop across the borough.

As we’ve walked this journey, we’ve grown alongside Christians Against Poverty nationally. And we’ve learned that tackling someone’s immediate debt isn’t enough on its own. Many of the people we meet are also facing challenges like low financial literacy, limited life skills, or a lack of confidence—all of which contribute to the crisis they’re in.

That’s why we’ve worked hard to expand what we offer. Through CAP Money Coaching and CAP Life Skills courses, we’re helping people take control of their finances and make wise, sustainable choices. And with CAP Job Club, we’re walking alongside those looking to get back into employment, offering support every step of the way.

Still, we know that real transformation takes more than a course. So we’ve added more ways to care for the whole person. We run a weekly Drop-in lunch club for anyone in need of a hot meal and some company. We offer Kintsugi Hope Courses to support emotional and mental wellbeing, access to professional counselling, and practical help like second-hand furniture and household items for those rebuilding their lives.

All our CAP services are free, friendly and open to everyone – regardless of faith, age, gender, race, disability or sexual orientation.

CAP is unsurpassed when it comes to the debt help they give people across the country. There’s nothing better to start you on the path of having more money in your pocket.

“I found the Money coaching course to be a great tool to help with budgeting. It has helped me have control over my finances rather than them having control over me.”
