ROLE OBJECTIVE

The Youth & YAs Pastor will pastorally care for young people aged 11-18 and 18+ - 20s, who attend C3 UNITEDLIFE across all locations. They will be responsible for recruiting, envisioning and raising up a team of capable, passionate and committed volunteer team and leaders. In wider discussion with the SLT they will be responsible for the content and delivery of a weekly programme ensuring cohesion with the wider vision and values of C3 UNITEDLIFE. They will be responsible for helping to create and implement the vision and strategy for C3 Youth & YAs.

Subject to Sutton Schools Work (SSW) recruitment process; for the first twelve months, this role will have two days on secondment with SSW, supporting their work within secondary schools within our boroughs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and lead a range of youth activities for both locations collectively, ensuring they are healthy environments to help young people grow and flourish as committed followers of Jesus.

  • Pastoral care of young people aged 11–18 at C3 UNITEDLIFE.

  • Equip young people to serve on teams.

  • Champion young people within the church; ensuring their voice is heard and their input valued, and encouraging and facilitating opportunities for them to take on leadership and ministry responsibilities within our church and services.

  • To help foster a culture of intergenerational worship and connection.

  • To organise and lead social events that will create environments for the young people to invite friends, have fun, build relationships and make memories.

  • Recruit, manage, support and encourage appropriate volunteers be part of the youth team and provide relevant training and support, facilitating opportunities for them to use their own strengths and gifts.

  • Undertake administrative tasks including maintaining appropriate database records and volunteer rotas, undertaking risk assessments and ensuring health and safety, and safeguarding compliance.

  • To assist in leading Sunday Service, across both locations, team gatherings, imparting a clear vision Communicate effectively and regularly with parents and carers.

  • Create healthy and strong relationships within the wider church family across generations.

  • To generate and oversee social media content for C3 UL Youth/YAs as necessary.

  • Oversee budget.

  • Other general support to the C3 UL Senior Team as needed.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS

  • Attend C3 Europe and national gatherings as part of the role.

  • Attend/serve within C3UL Services, serving out of the Ewell location.

  • Represent C3UL at Youth Leader gatherings within the local area/community.

  • Must be DBS enhanced checked.
