Day 11 - All the Way My Saviour Leads Me
All the way my Saviour leads me
Who have I to ask beside
How could I doubt His tender mercy
Who through life has been my guide
All the way my Savior leads me
Cheers each winding path I tread
Gives me grace for every trial
Feeds me with the living Bread
You lead me and keep me from falling
You carry me close to Your heart
And surely Your goodness and mercy will follow me
All the way my Savior leads me
Oh, the fullness of His love Oh, the sureness of His promise
In the triumph of His blood
And when my spirit clothed immortal
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages
Jesus led me all the way Jesus led me all the way
Knowing who God is gives us confidence for the future. Jesus is not just a best friend we can relate to but Saviour. He leads us through the unknown as the God who knows all things and is outside of time knowing the beginning and end. We can have confidence in Him even when we do not have confidence in ourselves or our circumstances. We can have confidence in his promises as they are not wishful thinking or dreams and ambitions like us mere humans. He’s promises are eternal and he has triumphed over all things and we will be clothed immortal. When he leads us he doesn’t just speak to us, he provides for us ‘living bread’, he equips us and graces us for every trial. This holistic view of God’s leading is reflected in Psalm 23
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
He provides for us, he gives us rest, peace and refreshes our soul, he does not abandon us when we walk through the darkest valley’s instead he comforts us that we no longer fear. He guides us and knows the way ahead so we don’t have to. He allows us to thrive even in the presence of our enemies. Therefore we can say with confidence, SURELY, your goodness and mercy will follow me.
His guidance is a greater guidance than what job we do etc he guides us through this life into eternal life with Him. Let’s see God’s greatest plan for our lives and the direction we are heading with his victory in and through Jesus. Having an eternal perspective can help us refocus our lives.
'Think about / Meditate on':
Write down or declare who God is to you
Do you feel God’s leading? Pray for greater sensitivity to hear God’s voice in your life
Spend time considering God’s leading in your life and your final destination that is secure in Christ.
